Lindsay E. Y. Kuo, MD, MBA, FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She is a high-volume endocrine surgeon specializing in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal gland surgery with expertise in minimally invasive techniques including retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy, one of only two surgeons in the Philadelphia region performing this specialized procedure.
Her clinical interests span the full spectrum of endocrine disorders including adrenal cancer, adrenal masses, aldosteronomas/Conn Syndrome, Cushing Syndrome, pheochromocytomas, hyperparathyroidism, parathyroid cancer, Graves' disease, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, neck masses, and multiple endocrine neoplasia. Her research focuses on health disparities and access to care, as well as surgical decision-making and the extent of surgery, particularly for thyroid cancer.
Dr. Kuo's publication record demonstrates expertise in surgical outcomes research, with particular emphasis on endocrine surgery, minimally invasive techniques, healthcare disparities, and surgical education. Her work spans surgical decision-making, quality improvement, and healthcare access issues, with a strong focus on evidence-based approaches to endocrine surgical care.
