Courtney Elizabeth Gibson, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Endocrine Surgery. She serves as Fellowship Director of the Endocrine Surgery Program and Associate Clerkship Director for the General Surgery Clerkship. Her clinical expertise includes thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques like retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy and laparoscopic approaches. Dr. Gibson’s research investigates outcomes of minimally invasive endocrine surgeries, outpatient procedures, and endocrine oncology. She completed her MD at Virginia Commonwealth University, a postdoctoral fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and residencies at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Scott & White Memorial Hospital.

She has published extensively on endocrine surgery topics, with recent work appearing in Genome Research and American Journal of Surgery. Her clinical interests emphasize patient education and minimizing surgical complications through advanced techniques.
