Dr. Savita Verma is a Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Hull University Business School, University of Hull. She holds an honorary position as a Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University's Management School. Her research focuses on supply chain management, employee green behaviors, innovation diffusion, sustainability, circular economy, and behavioral theories in supply chains. She completed her PhD at the University of Leeds, funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, with a thesis on employee engagement in environmentally sustainable supply chains.
Dr. Verma's academic qualifications include a MEng from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a PhD from the University of Leeds. She leads the project Industry 4.0, Logistics sprawl and Indian cities: Co-creating a Sustainability Mindset, aiming to bridge attitude-behavior gaps in sustainability through transnational collaboration. She is affiliated with the Sustainable Production and Consumption research center and contributes to the Plastic Packaging in Peoples’ Lives (PPiPL) project at Lancaster University, examining consumer and industry practices around plastic packaging.
Her research emphasizes sustainable packaging innovation, circular supply chain dynamics, and behavioral drivers of environmental engagement. Key areas include reducing plastic packaging in the UK food industry, analyzing SME environmental supply chains in India, and exploring motivational orientations for pro-environmental behaviors in supply chain employees. Dr. Verma is open to supervising PhD students in circular economy and sustainable supply chain topics.
