Sarah Shaw is a Reader in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Hull University Business School, part of the University of Hull’s Faculty of Business, Law and Politics. She serves as Director of MBA Programmes and leads multi-disciplinary research projects focused on sustainable supply chain practices, environmental performance measurement, and ESG transformation. With 15 years of industry experience in senior supply chain roles, she bridges academic and practical expertise.
Education includes a PhD (2013) and MBA (2007) from the University of Hull, alongside certifications as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT). Her research explores green logistics, supply chain resilience, and low-carbon technologies, with notable projects funded by Innovate UK, European Regional Development Funds, and industry partnerships.
Key achievements include pioneering the Supply Chain Leader Degree Apprenticeship (SCLDA) to address UK logistics talent gaps, and winning the Women in Logistics ‘Leader of the Year’ (2017) for promoting youth engagement in the sector. Awards include the CILT Richard McLeish Award (2009), recognizing her contributions to logistics education and research.
