Linda Whicker is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Hull University Business School, part of the Faculty of Business, Law and Politics at the University of Hull. She serves as Deputy MBA Director and Programme Director for the Exec MBA (part-time) and Global MBA (full-time) programmes. Her roles have included leading courses at the University of Nottingham Business School and a five-year secondment at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, where she taught operations management and supply chain disciplines across academic levels.
Her research focuses on embedding sustainability into supply chain operations, including carbon foot-printing initiatives, sustainable feedstock for pharmaceuticals (SUSTAIN project), and soil health investigations with Birds Eye Ltd. She has led projects supported by grants such as the £23,590 THYME-funded SUSTAIN project (2019–2020) and a £49,000 University of Hull grant for eco-friendly polymers research (2023). Collaborations include partnerships with GSK, University of York, and local businesses like Wren Kitchens.
Whicker’s prior work includes assessing supply chain time/cost dynamics in UK and Malaysian food industries. She actively engages in business consultancy, particularly with firms in food and construction sectors to advance sustainability practices.
