Dr. Sushma Kumari is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director of the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Hull's Hull University Business School within the Faculty of Business, Law and Politics. Her research focuses on sustainable supply chain design, data-driven decision-making, and Industry 4.0 technologies. She has led innovative projects funded by KTP, AKT, and STFC, including a blockchain-enabled Carbon Calculator and a Circular Economy Business Model for ICT. Her educational philosophy emphasizes 21st-century skills like creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Dr. Kumari holds a PhD from the University of Sussex and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed articles and led projects addressing supply chain resilience, SME internationalization, and humanitarian logistics. Notable collaborations include work with local SMEs via ERDF-funded initiatives, aiming to enhance environmental literacy and applied research impact. Her expertise spans global logistics hubs, healthcare supply chains, and digital technologies' role in supply chain optimization.
Her research outputs highlight interdisciplinary approaches, combining big data analytics, multi-agent systems, and lean/agile methodologies. Recent work examines post-pandemic global value chains and Industry 5.0's potential for supply chain resilience. Dr. Kumari is also affiliated with the Environmental Technologies and Food Systems research center and contributes to themes in Business and Logistics.
