Saul Kutnicki is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at North Central College. He specializes in film & screen studies, writing, and material culture of cinema. His research examines the intersection of cinema history, live television, and American shopping malls. Kutnicki holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University-Bloomington, where he was recognized as a Jesse Fine Fellow. He has published in journals such as Western Journal of Communication and Rhetoric Society Quarterly, and recently contributed a video essay to Screenworks (2024).
Education: Ph.D./M.A. Indiana University-Bloomington; B.A. Transylvania University; Certificate in Library and Information Technology.
Research focuses on cinema's material artifacts—film stocks, theaters, promotional materials—and their cultural significance. His current project explores the cultural history of movies alongside live TV broadcasts and shopping malls.

Teaching: Courses include Film 100, Film 490, MWRT 500, and ENG 110. Professional experience includes film preservation, theater projection, and library exhibit curation.
