Katrina Boyd is an Assistant Professor at the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences, The University of Oklahoma, where she has taught since fall 2005. Her office is located at Wallace Old Science Hall, Room 321, and her work spans film and media studies, with a focus on science fiction, cultural critique, and French cinema.

Boyd’s research investigates the intersection of science fiction, entertainment, and cultural analysis, with a particular emphasis on Hollywood and French cinema. Her teaching covers courses such as Introduction to Film & Media Studies, French Film, Science Fiction and Cultural Modernity, and Directors Up Close: Martin Scorsese, John Sayles, and the Coen Brothers.
Her published works include essays in anthologies like Enterprise Zones: Critical Positions on Star Trek (1996), exploring utopian/dystopian themes, and Sooner Cinema: Oklahoma Goes to the Movies (2009), analyzing regional cinema’s cultural impact. These publications highlight her expertise in film history, media studies, and genre theory.
