Sattar Dorafshan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of North Dakota (UND), where he has served since January 2020. He is the Founding Director of the Advanced Transportation Infrastructure Center (ATIC) and holds leadership roles including Director of the Center of Transportation Infrastructure Preservation and Sustainability (CTIPS) and Director of the Transportation Technology Research Institute.

Leadership & Professional Involvement: He advises the UND ASCE chapter and leads initiatives focused on modernizing transportation infrastructure through automation, AI, and additive construction. His work emphasizes workforce development via internships and UAS licensure programs.
