Sarah Whiteley serves as clinical sessional faculty in the Faculty of Health and Human Services at Vancouver Island University (VIU), teaching in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Practical Nursing (PN) programs since 2015. Based at the Nanaimo Campus, she integrates extensive clinical experience from both the UK and Canadian healthcare systems into nursing education.

Research and Practice Focus: Her expertise spans primary health care delivery with specialized emphasis on chronic disease management including diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and respiratory disorders. She actively contributes to health promotion initiatives and healthcare system redesign through quality improvement frameworks, translating clinical consultancy experience into evidence-based nursing pedagogy.
Professional Trajectory: After beginning her career in UK acute medical/surgical settings where she earned teaching/assessment diplomas, she transitioned to primary care before moving to Canada in 2008. Her pre-VIU consultancy work in healthcare redesign directly informs her current role developing nursing professionals through clinical instruction and mentorship.
