Sarah Whatley is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Dance Research at Coventry University. Her work focuses on the intersection of dance with digital technologies, disability, and cultural heritage. She has led over 38 research projects funded by AHRC, Leverhulme Trust, Wellcome Trust, and the European Union. Notable projects include the Siobhan Davies digital archive (RePlay) and the EU-funded WhoLoDance initiative. She co-founded the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices and serves on multiple editorial boards. Her research emphasizes inclusive dance practices, digital preservation of performance, and the role of technology in artistic innovation.
