Kate Marsh is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Coventry University's Research Centre for Dance Research. A disabled dance artist-researcher with over 20 years of experience, her work explores perceptions of the body in the arts, disability leadership, and corporeal aesthetics. She co-designed projects prioritizing accessible, playful environments and has collaborated internationally on studies involving human-robot interaction and prosthetics.
Her research interests include Crip studies, human-machine interfaces, and practice-based methodologies. Key projects include the UKRI-funded 'Embodied trust in TAS: robots, dance, different bodies' (2023–2024). She holds a PhD from Coventry University (2016) supervised by Prof. Sarah Whatley.
Marsh has received the AWA Women in Dance Leadership Award (2022) and contributed to the 2017 Research Team of the Year. She actively engages in public talks, editorial work (e.g., Metal Culture), and community events like 'C-DaRE invites...'.
