Sarah Tham is an Assistant Professor of Education at Tabor College. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teaching (Literacy) from the University of Kansas, an M.S. in Psychology and Research in Education from the University of Kansas, and a B.Ed. (Hons) in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. Her professional background includes roles at the University of Kansas and extensive teaching experience in Malaysia before transitioning to higher education in the U.S.
Her research focuses on literacy education, trauma-informed pedagogy, teacher reflection practices, and curriculum development for multilingual learners. She actively contributes to programs addressing adult literacy, functional literacy in crisis contexts, and interfaith educational frameworks. Her work often bridges theoretical research with practical classroom applications.
Key publications include studies on religious pedagogy, trauma-sensitive literacy interventions, and teacher workload management. She has also authored interactive English language learning manuals for Malaysian institutions.
