Sarah Radif serves as Head of the Department of Science and Engineering at Solent University, holding the academic rank of Associate Professor in Professional Practice. She leads comprehensive academic portfolios spanning architecture and the built environment, biomedical science, computing, and engineering disciplines while maintaining strong industry alignment through professional accreditations from CIAT, SBID, CIOB, BCS, and IBMS.
Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch) from a MENA region institution and a Master of Architecture (M Arch) from the University of Liverpool.
Radif's research centers on socio-political influences on UK housing standards evolution since World War II, recently expanding into sustainable construction through a €400k ERASMUS PLUS collaboration investigating timber applications in high-rise buildings across European institutions. She actively bridges theoretical knowledge with industry practice through Solent University's pioneering Certificate of Practical Artificial Intelligence program.
Her distinguished professional recognition includes:
- Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA)
- Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (FCIAT), where she holds the historic distinction as the first and only female Professional Assessor for FCIAT
With over twenty years of academic leadership, Radif founded Solent's BA (Hons) Interior Design program and transformed the Architectural Design and Technology curriculum through industry-integrated teaching methods including live briefs, mock interviews, and accreditation-aligned assessment frameworks. Her strategic oversight extends to course validation for foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship programs across multiple disciplines.
