Sarah Peck is a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow at Northumbria University’s Centre for International Development (2020–2024). Her research focuses on civic space, migration, and global development, with a particular emphasis on transnational mobilizations and the geographies of reparative justice. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Sheffield (2018) and has conducted collaborative work on Caribbean civil society and diasporic communities. Her current project explores diasporic life and global development through policy analysis, digital storytelling, and narrative interviewing.
Her academic background includes a BSc in Physiotherapy (2004), an MA in Health and Community Studies (2014), and an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). She has also contributed to voluntary sector projects, such as a study on ageing and social isolation in Sheffield.
Peck’s research interests span critical geographies of migration, the philosophy of aid, and race and belonging. Her publications analyze themes like diasporic civil society, UK-Caribbean relations, and the migration-development nexus. She emphasizes participatory research methods and interdisciplinary collaboration in her work.
