Sarah Peck serves as a Lecturer in Art Practice at Stanford University, where she engages in intermedia art to investigate connections and foster community. Her artistic practice spans photography, video, performance, drawing, and sculpture, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to contemporary creative expression.
Her educational background comprises:
- Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Art from Hampshire College
- Post Baccalaureate certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston
- Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Tufts University
Peck's research interests lie at the intersection of contemporary art, visual arts, media art, and documentary film, with a particular focus on cultural studies themes such as consumer culture and nostalgia. She is currently developing a feature-length documentary that examines the role of artist residencies in contemporary practice, and her 'In Situ' series of drawings and photographs critically engages with domestic spaces during estate sales.
Her work has been exhibited internationally at notable venues including Mobius (Cambridge, MA), Edinburgh College of Art (UK), Cranbrook Art Academy (MI), University of Antwerp (Belgium), The Rocky Mountain Regional Center (Denver, CO), and The World Trade Center (Boston, MA).
