Sarah Oluk

Sarah Oluk is a Lecturer in Inclusive Education at the University of New England, affiliated with the School of Education within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education. Her work bridges research, teaching, and professional practice in gifted and inclusive education.

Research Interests: Her research centers on gifted and talented education, twice exceptionality, pre-service teacher education, and the sociology of education with a focus on diversity, including gender and sexuality. She investigates how teacher identity, pedagogy, and institutional structures impact equity and inclusion.

Recent Research Trends: Her recent publications (2023–2025) highlight a strong emphasis on collaborative and digital approaches in teacher education, including online practicums, mobile pedagogies, and AI-enhanced inclusion. These works reflect a commitment to bridging research-practice gaps and supporting teacher resilience, especially in diverse and selective educational settings.

Professional Engagement: Sarah is actively involved in advising and collaborative research. She is a member of key organizations including the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE), the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, and the Australian Association for the Education of the Gifted and Talented.

Labs and Teams: She collaborates with interdisciplinary research teams at UNE and beyond, particularly in projects focused on teacher professional development, online learning communities, and inclusion innovation using AI. Her work is embedded in university-school partnerships aimed at improving educational outcomes for high-ability and diverse learners.
