Sarah M. Belcher is an Assistant Professor in the Health & Community Systems department at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She serves as core faculty for the Palliative Research Center (PaRC) and holds secondary appointments in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and School of Public Health.
Dr. Belcher’s research focuses on improving cancer treatment adherence and health outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. Her work examines multi-level predictors of oral anticancer medication adherence, including financial hardship and health disparities. She leads the Pill PACT Study (R01CA292925) and previously directed the IMPACT Study (K23NR019296) on multiple myeloma adherence patterns.

She mentors PhD students and integrates cancer survivorship and symptom science into her teaching.
