Dr. Lindsay Sabik serves as Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Pittsburgh, with additional appointments as a Member of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Director of the Workgroup on Cancer Health Services Research within the Health Policy Institute.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in Health Policy (Concentration: Economics) from Harvard University (2010)
- BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Kenyon College (2003)
Her research centers on health economics and health services, specifically analyzing how state/federal policies impact healthcare access, utilization, and outcomes for low-income populations with emphasis on cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment. She investigates Medicaid policies and healthcare safety net dynamics through state/national evaluations.
Her work is supported by major grants from the National Cancer Institute, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and American Cancer Society, alongside foundation funding for Medicaid and safety net research.
She directs the Cancer Health Services Research Workgroup and maintains active memberships in AcademyHealth, Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, American Society of Health Economists, International Health Economics Association, and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
