معرفی
Yu-Chih Chen, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is also affiliated with the Joint CMU-Pitt PhD Program in Computational Biology. His research integrates high-throughput single-cell analysis, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and machine learning to advance cancer precision medicine.
- Education:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2014)
- Dual Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Law, National Taiwan University, Taipei (2008)
Dr. Chen’s research interests focus on decoding cellular heterogeneity and inheritability in cancer migration, leveraging computational tools and genomic technologies. He has pioneered methodologies for single-cell profiling and predictive modeling in oncology. His work bridges engineering, law, and biology to address interdisciplinary challenges in medical research.
- Awards:
- TSMC Outstanding Student Research Award (2008)
- Orenstein PhD Fellowship (2009)
- Best Post-Doctoral Speaker Award in Microfluidics (2015)
- Emerging Forbes Scholar (2017)
- Hillman Early Career Fellow (2021)
He leads a NIH-funded project (Deciphering Cellular Heterogeneity and Inheritability in Migration, 2023–2028) aimed at understanding cancer metastasis mechanisms. His advisory and grant activities emphasize interdisciplinary collaborations. Dr. Chen’s lab actively explores computational approaches to personalize cancer therapies and is affiliated with the Forbes Institute for Cancer Discovery and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
