Sarah Kim serves as an Associate Faculty member at City University of Seattle in Vancouver, BC, teaching in the Master of Counselling and Master of Counselling Education programs since 2016. Her instructional responsibilities include Introduction to Counselling Psychology Practice, Individual Counselling Theory and Practice, Psychology of Loss and Grief, Psychology of Aging, Psychology of Sexuality and Human Development, and Practicum I, II, and III.
Her professional expertise centers on counselling psychology with specialized focus areas in grief counselling, aging, and human sexuality. This is demonstrated through her dual roles as a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice and clinical consultant for psychotherapists. Her community engagement includes former service as a group facilitator and board member with the Lower Mainland Grief Recovery Society, plus course facilitation for UBC’s Widowed Journey and Peer Counselling Certificate programs.
Ms. Kim supervises practicum students in counselling psychology, integrating real-world clinical experience into academic training. Her ongoing private practice ensures teaching remains grounded in current therapeutic methodologies while addressing critical community mental health needs through specialized grief and aging support services.
