Eleonora Joensuu is a Continuing Faculty Member in the Master of Counselling program at City University of Seattle's Vancouver campus, having joined in 2021 initially as Associate Faculty and subsequently serving in leadership roles. A Registered Clinical Counsellor, she maintains a private practice specializing in adult and relationship counselling while contributing to academic training.

Her research investigates how disgust experiences shape social, relational, and emotional development, with specific focus on impacts to relational ethics within contexts of oppression and violence. She passionately bridges theoretical knowledge to clinical practice in counsellor education, emphasizing practical application and faculty development for effective teaching methodologies.
With nine years of teaching experience across undergraduate and graduate levels in Education and Counselling, plus seven years as an academic writing coach, she supports student development. As a queer-identifying scholar, she actively engages in unlearning processes to advance social justice and equitable community building.
