Sarah K. Williams is a Professor in the Art and Design Department at Missouri State University, located in Springfield. She holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas (College of Visual Art and Design) and a BFA in Studio Art from William Woods University.
Her research focuses on contemporary painting and drawing practices, with exhibitions including solo shows like Blanketed (Blue Gallery, 2017) and Flyover Territory (George Billis Gallery, 2015). Group exhibitions include Cityscape Show VII (2017) and New American Paintings (2016). Her work has been featured in American Art Collector, The Southern Review, and New American Paintings.
Williams has received residencies including the 2016 Millay Colony for the Arts and 2015 Willapa Bay Artist in Residence. She teaches courses such as ART 115 Drawing I, ART 225 Painting I, and advanced studio courses like Life Drawing and Painting III.
Her artistic practice explores themes of urban identity and regional culture, often addressing underrepresented landscapes through visual narratives. She maintains an active exhibition schedule and contributes to academic art discourse through publications and curatorial engagements.
