Dr Sarah Jenkins is a Lecturer in Applied Decision-Making at the Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds. She holds a joint post with the Centre for Decision Research and the UK Met Office, where she conducts high-impact research on how individuals perceive, communicate, and make decisions under risk and uncertainty.
Her research spans multiple domains including natural hazards, climate, food safety, product safety, and public policy. She employs social science methodologies to improve communication strategies for risk and uncertainty, particularly in weather forecasting and governmental decision-making contexts.

Dr Jenkins has collaborated extensively with public sector bodies such as the British Geological Survey, Food Standards Agency (FSA), Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Office for Product Safety and Standards, and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL).
She is affiliated with the National Hazards Partnership Hazard Impact and Science Group and the UCL Warning Research Centre, contributing to national-level hazard response frameworks.
Dr Jenkins earned her PhD in Experimental Psychology and MSc in Social Cognition from University College London, and her BSc in Psychology from the University of Reading. Her interdisciplinary work bridges cognitive science, public health, environmental risk, and policy implementation.
