Sarah J. Kornfield is an Associate Professor of Communication at Hope College, with affiliations in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her teaching includes courses in rhetorical criticism, feminist theory, and television culture.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Communication Arts and Sciences and Women's Studies, The Pennsylvania State University (2012)

- B.A. in Communication and English Literature, Wheaton College (2007)
Her research explores how gender is performed and constructed in U.S. media, focusing on rhetorical theory, feminist critique, and television culture. She employs critical methods to analyze public discourse and television narratives.
The trends in her publications (2017–2021) span feminist rhetoric, media analysis of gender, rhetorical theory, and academic publishing practices. These works address topics such as stasis theory, maternal representation in TV, and methodological approaches to public culture.
