Dr. Susan Brondyk is the Irwin B. and Margie E. Floyd Associate Professor of Education and Department Chair at Hope College. She teaches Curriculum/Methods and Classroom Management courses for elementary and middle school teacher candidates.

Her research focuses on mentoring new teachers, mentor preparation, differentiated mentoring, and the use of Hope’s Student Teaching Assessment Tool (STAT) to promote teacher candidate growth. She previously served as Associate Director of Launch into Teaching at Michigan State University, supporting beginning teachers in urban districts.
Sue collaborates with local PreK–12 schools, co-leads professional development sessions, and advises Hope’s student chapter of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). She also co-leads the Hope Comes to Watts May Term program for urban teaching experiences.
