Sarah Howe

Sarah Howe is a Lecturer in Photography at the School of Digital Arts (SODA), Manchester Metropolitan University. She teaches Level 6 Photography modules and co-facilitates the inter-institutional project A Particular Reality, fostering non-hierarchical educational spaces. Her practice spans photography, writing, moving image, and installation, addressing themes of mental health, identity, and contemporary portraiture through collaborative research. She holds a BA in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster and an MA from the Royal College of Art.

Her research employs methodologies like interviews and creative technologies to explore interconnected social contexts, resulting in exhibitions at venues such as Matt's Gallery London (2024), PAF Olomouc (2023–2025), and Science Gallery London (2019–2020). Publications include a chapter in Momentary Glimpses (2019) and a non-peer-reviewed article in Art Licks - Interdependence (2025).
