Wendy McMurdo is a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader for the Final Major Project in the MA Photography program at Falmouth University. She holds a PhD by publication from the University of Westminster (2015) and has held academic positions at institutions including the University of Dundee (School of Fine Art, 1990–2002) and Edinburgh College of Art (1985–1997). McMurdo is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a board member of Stills Gallery in Edinburgh (2017–present). Her work bridges art and technology, examining how digital tools shape identity and culture.

Research Interests: McMurdo’s practice investigates the intersection of technology and identity, particularly through digital media and photography. Recent work combines 3D rendering with traditional photographic genres like portraiture to examine technology’s role in gaming and imaginative play.
