Steven Barritt is a lecturer and course leader for BA Photography at Falmouth University, with over 11 years of teaching experience in higher education. His conceptual photographic practice interrogates ambiguity, the relationship between photographic representation and truth, and the interplay between surface and meaning.
Research interests include:
- Representation and reality in photography
- Self-portraiture and the exploration of psyche
- Narrative construction and interdisciplinary connections with art, cinema, and literature
- Philosophical/psychological intersections in photography
- Digital narcissism and visual language
- Art-science collaborations in education
