Jaskirt Boora serves as a Lecturer in Photography at Birmingham City University, where her practice centers on socially engaged art and community collaboration to amplify marginalized voices through visual storytelling. Her work critically examines representations of gender, ethnicity, and place while celebrating untold narratives.
Her research explores the intersection of community-driven art and social advocacy, emphasizing photography as a tool for empowerment. She investigates how visual narratives can challenge dominant discourses around identity and spatial belonging, particularly within underrepresented groups in urban contexts.
