Dr. Sarah Holdsworth is a Professor at RMIT University's School of Property, Construction and Project Management. She holds a PhD in Urban Planning and has over 80 publications in built environment research. Her work focuses on sustainability education, gender equity in construction, and resilient communities. She collaborates with industry partners on projects like the Future Fuels CRC and contributed to Victoria's Women in Construction Strategy and Building Equality Policy.
Her teaching includes courses on sustainability, industrial environment, and global built environment studies. She has developed RMIT's Graduate Attributes and micro-credentials, emphasizing sustainability and resilience. Awards include the 2015 RMIT Teaching Award and Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
Research areas include policy development, gender studies, and sustainable built environments. She advises government and industry bodies on equity and energy transitions. Current projects address hydrogen upskilling and vulnerable customers in fuel transitions.
Key collaborations include the Victorian Government, Construction Skills Queensland, and Industrial Relations Victoria. Her work drives cultural change in construction through policy and education.
