Dr Sarah Griffiths is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London (UCL), Faculty of Medical Sciences, Department of Primary Care & Population Health. Previously a Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy at Plymouth Marjon University, her career spans clinical practice, research, and education. She leads the Alzheimer’s Society-funded 'CAPPD study' on communication in dementia care and co-leads the D-PACT project. Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies, dementia support interventions, and improving primary care practices through realist approaches.
She holds a PhD in Medical Studies from the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. Her work emphasizes public involvement in research and has been published in journals like Ageing and OUP. Active in professional communities, she supervises UCL dental programme students and serves as an external examiner for Canterbury Christchurch University.
Griffiths advocates for inclusive communication strategies in dementia care and collaborates on initiatives like the Alzheimer’s Society Doctoral Training Centre. Her funding includes the NIHR and Alzheimer’s Society. She also engages in public outreach through blogs, podcasts, and social media, advocating for ethical research practices and dementia awareness.
