Sarah Getch

Dr. Sarah Getch serves as Program Director and Associate Professor of Health Service Psychology at Kansas City University. She leads the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program with an emphasis on interprofessional education models integrating psychological and medical care.

Her research examines:

• Social determinants of mental health
• Impact of loneliness on physical health outcomes
• Workplace connection strategies
• Community-based mental health interventions

As a frequent media contributor, she translates research on Seasonal Affective Disorder, friendship dynamics, and workplace mental health for public audiences. Her work informed the U.S. Surgeon General's advisory on loneliness epidemiology. She develops clinical training protocols for collaborative care models where psychologists partner with physicians to address psychological components of chronic illness.
