Amy Brown is a Lecturer in Psychology at Sarah Lawrence College (SLC) as of 2025. She is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience in psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and collaborative care models. Her current roles include maintaining a private practice, providing clinical consultation, supporting dissertation research, and conducting pro bono psychological evaluations for asylum seekers through the Bay Area Asylum Mental Health Project.
She holds a BA from the State University of New York at Albany and an MA and PsyD from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.
Her clinical and research interests focus on:
- Treatment of anxiety and mood disorders
- Psychological impacts of chronic illnesses
- Structural inequities in healthcare access
- Psychedelic therapy integration
- Trauma-informed care for marginalized populations (e.g., asylum seekers)
Previously, she served as co-director of the Practicum Training Program at Kaiser Permanente (Richmond, CA), where she developed clinical curricula, supervised doctoral trainees, and managed professional development initiatives.
