Sarah N. Arpin is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Gonzaga University, where she chairs the Department of Psychology and leads the Social Emotions, Relationships, and Health Research Lab.

Her research explores the intersection of social relationships and health, focusing on loneliness, alcohol use, social decision-making, and the interdependence of emotions and health behaviors within romantic couples. Current projects include studying self-disclosure, loneliness, and sleep in couples and collaborating with Dr. Monica Bartlett on gratitude and loneliness in Spokane’s elderly population.
Her publications cover topics such as loneliness, capitalization support, social exclusion, and workplace stress. She teaches courses in general psychology, research methods, social psychology, and health psychology.
