Sarah Eskens is an Assistant Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, holding roles in the Faculty of Law and the Law & Technology department. Her research focuses on EU legal frameworks governing disinformation, obligations of messaging apps under the Digital Services Act (DSA), and intersections of media law, data protection (GDPR), and platform regulation. She holds a research master’s in Information Law (University of Amsterdam, 2016) and a PhD on fundamental rights in personalized news media (University of Amsterdam, 2021).
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating the International Technology Law master’s specialization, teaching European data protection law, and supervising internships and theses in this specialization.
