Sarah Cohen-Woods is Professor and head of the Behavioural GEMs Lab, investigating genetic and environmental mechanisms in mental health. Her NHMRC-funded research integrates genomics, epigenetics, and social determinants to understand depression, psychosis, and eating disorders. Current projects examine epigenetic age acceleration in disordered eating and stress-related biomarkers.
Leadership roles include co-chairing the Australian Brain Alliance and executive positions with Biological Psychiatry Australia. She received the 2019 South Australian Tall Poppy Award for scientific achievement and science communication.
