Sarah Berry, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Dallas. Her research focuses on lyric poetry, modernist literature, verse drama, and intersections of literature with performance and media. She teaches courses including Literary Tradition I/II, Lyric Poetry, Modernism, and Irish Literature.

Research Interests: Dr. Berry explores how lyric poetry engages with modernist experimentation, radio, film, and dramatic performance. Her work examines figures like Marianne Moore, Derek Walcott, and Sylvia Plath, investigating themes of voice, temporality, and curatorial aesthetics in literary forms.
Publications: Recent scholarship includes articles on Walcott’s radio poetry, Marianne Moore’s curatorial impulses, and the role of intertitles in film adaptations of literature. Her 2024 monograph Staging the Lyric examines modernist verse drama’s theatrical innovations.
Teaching & Service: In addition to her research, Dr. Berry contributes to core courses in literary traditions and coordinates the English department’s offerings in modernist studies and performance theory.
