Stacy Hubbard

Stacy Hubbard is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the College of Arts and Sciences, University at Buffalo. Her research spans 19th- and 20th-century American literature and culture, with a focus on poetry and poetics, transatlantic modernism, feminist studies, and visual studies.

Her research explores intersections between modernist poetry and visual arts, particularly the works of Marianne Moore and Gwendolyn Brooks. Current projects include a book on Moore’s engagement with 17th-century art and literature, alongside critical essays on Millay, Stein, and Bishop.

Selected publications span authorial introductions to foundational texts like Alcott’s Little Women and Millay’s Early Poems, alongside peer-reviewed analyses of modernist poetry. Her work bridges literary criticism, feminist theory, and transatlantic cultural dialogues.
