Dr. Sarah Corbett is a Senior Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at Lancaster University. She holds a PhD in Critical and Creative Writing from the University of Manchester (2013). Her work spans poetry, verse-novels, literary criticism, and collaborative projects. Notable publications include A Perfect Mirror (2018), And She Was (2015), and The Red Wardrobe (1998, winner of the Eric Gregory Award). Her research explores themes like identity, transition, and women’s experiences, with a focus on Sylvia Plath and 19th/20th-century literature.
Her collaborations include the Dorothy’s Colour exhibition (2017–18), supported by Arts Council England, and a film adaptation of her short story Deer, Woman, Child. She runs creative writing initiatives like poetrynites@thebookcase (2013–18) and is completing her first novel, Go, Said the Bird. Current projects include poems on female bodily transitions and a contribution to Sylvia Plath in Context (Cambridge UP, 2019).
