Sarah Anschütz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. Her research examines transnational youth mobilities between West Africa and Europe, with focus on mobility patterns, educational trajectories, and digital media engagement.
Her current FWO-funded project investigates how digital media shapes young people's transnational engagements and mobilities. Methodologically, she employs multi-sited ethnography with graphic anthropological and digital methods.
Dr. Anschütz's work has explored the value of origin-country visits for personal growth, reconceptualization of family reunification, and affective engagements through digital media. She maintains research collaborations across migration studies and youth development disciplines.
