Sarah Almetus is a Lecturer in Music Education at the Conservatory of Music, University of the Pacific, where she has been since fall 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Music (BM) in violin performance from Biola University and a Master of Music (MM) in violin performance with a Suzuki Pedagogy emphasis from East Carolina University. Her teaching career includes roles at the Omaha Conservatory of Music Summer Institute (2015–2017), the Hochstein School of Music in Rochester, NY (2006–2016), where she co-founded the East String Quartet, and as a private instructor founding string programs in Houston, TX elementary schools. She actively performs with the Stockton Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera, and Modesto Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she maintains an active violin studio in Davis, California.
Almetus' professional expertise spans Suzuki Method pedagogy, orchestral performance, and string education program development. Her career highlights include collaborative work with ensembles like Ossia (Eastman School of Music) and contributions to music education through institutional and community initiatives.
