YooJin Jang

YooJin Jang is an Assistant Professor of Violin at the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), specializing in violin performance and chamber music. She holds degrees from the Korean National University of Arts (BM) and New England Conservatory (MM, Graduate Diploma, Artist Diploma, DMA), studying under Nam Yun Kim and Miriam Fried.

Highlights include winning the 2017 Concert Artists Guild and 2016 Sendai International Competitions, leading to international performances with orchestras like the Budapest Festival Orchestra and Tokyo Symphony. She co-founded the Kallaci String Quartet, recognized at Seoul's Kumho Art Hall and Spring Festival. Notable performances include Carnegie Hall and Jordan Hall debuts, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Series, and radio appearances on WQXR.

Her recordings include Mendelssohn/Stravinsky concertos and a recital disc with pianist Kae Ozawa. Her awards include the Borromeo Quartet Guest Artist Award and Schloss Weikersheim Scholarship. She teaches orchestral repertoire and maintains active chamber music collaborations through Marlboro and Ravinia Festivals.
