Sara Toniolo is a Temporary Assistant Professor in Commodity Sciences at the University of Verona's Department of Management. She holds a Doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the University of Padova (2015). Her academic roles include membership in the Mathematics and Data Science Teaching Committee, Information Engineering Teaching Committee, Research Quality Assurance Commission, and the Department Council.
Her research focuses on innovative supply chain strategies with emphases on:
- Circular economy implementation in logistics
- Sustainable resource management
- Life cycle assessment methodologies
- Resilient supply chain design
- Environmental engineering applications
She leads significant projects including SHIELD (Sustainable Logistics through Digital Advancements) and Resilient Logistics and Supply Chain Design (Reload). She serves as Associate Editor for Environment, Development and Sustainability and participates in working groups for the Italian LCA Network.

Teaching responsibilities include courses in Circular Supply Chain, Sustainability in Sport Organizations, Production Management, and Logistics across multiple graduate programs. She maintains active membership in AISME, SETAC, and the Global Logistics Emissions Council.
