Sara Hahn-Huston serves as Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Program Director for Administrative Licensure in the College of Education at George Fox University, bringing over 30 years of public education experience to her role since joining in 2023. Her career encompasses leadership across Oregon's largest urban districts and Washington state school systems.
Her academic credentials include:
- Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon (2009)
- Master’s degree in Educational Policy, Foundations and Administration from Portland State University (2002)
- Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Portland (1992)
Hahn-Huston's professional focus centers on educational leadership development, school/district turnaround strategies, and the application of pedagogical expertise in mission contexts. She actively bridges administrative theory with practice through her work preparing future school leaders, while maintaining a specialized commitment to refugee education initiatives and support for persecuted Christian communities worldwide.
In her dual capacity as educator and mission practitioner, she mentors licensure candidates using insights from 10 years of classroom teaching, 13 years as a multi-level principal, and 7 years in district superintendent roles. Her field experience spans Portland Public Schools, Salem-Keizer Public Schools, and Everett Public Schools' turnaround initiatives.
Through her church's Justice Ministries team, she has coordinated global mission partnerships for 18 years, developing educator training programs for marginalized communities facing isolation and oppression while supporting refugee integration through educational frameworks.
