Sara Bayramzadeh is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Healthcare Design program at Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design. She holds the Elliot Professorship and serves as Lead Biostatistician and Co-Leader of the Health Data Analytics Group at the SDSU HealthLINK Center. Her research focuses on psychiatric units, operating room designs, and healthcare environmental impacts on safety outcomes.
Dr. Bayramzadeh's work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to enhance healthcare outcomes through environmental design. Her investigations span trauma room efficiency, sensory stimuli impacts, and technology integration in clinical settings.
Her recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on healthcare environments, particularly trauma rooms and surgical spaces, with emerging themes in technology integration and sensory design. Research methodologies increasingly incorporate virtual simulations and observational studies.
She has received significant recognition including the President’s Faculty Excellence Award (2023), HCD 10 Educator Award (2022), and multiple EBD Touchstone Awards. Major funding includes a $2.4 million AHRQ grant for trauma room safety research.
Dr. Bayramzadeh collaborates with healthcare institutions and design firms including HGA Architects and BBH Design to bridge research and practice. She earned her Ph.D. in Design, Construction and Planning from the University of Florida after completing her Master of Architecture at Miami University.
