Sankar Sivarajah is a Professor of Technology Management and Circular Economy and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Management at the University of Bradford. He holds a PhD in Management Studies from Brunel University London (2014), a first-class BSc (Hons) in Business and Management (specializing in Computer Sciences) from Brunel University London, and an MSc with Distinction in Management (Entrepreneurship) from Bayes Business School, City University London.
Research Interests: His work focuses on leveraging emerging digital technologies for societal benefit, including energy-efficient digital currencies, smart waste systems, and circular economy frameworks. He explores themes such as blockchain in financial services, smart cities, and participatory budgeting. His interdisciplinary approach addresses challenges like consumer behavior modification and waste reduction.
Grants & Projects: With over £3 million in research funding, he has led or co-investigated projects supported by the European Commission (FP7, H2020), Qatar National Research Fund, Innovate UK/DEFRA, and others. Notable projects include GREENDC (sustainable data centers) and EMPATIA (ICT for civic participation). Key collaborators include Fraunhofer, Deloitte, and local authorities like Leeds Council.
