Panos Panagiotopoulos

Dr Panos Panagiotopoulos is a Reader in Information Management at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management, Department of Business Analytics and Applied Economics. He serves as Co-Director of the Public Management and Regulation research group and a member of the Quantitative and Computational Methods group. His research focuses on digital government, smart cities, data science, AI ethics, and regulatory innovation. He holds editorial leadership roles including Co-Editor-in-Chief of Government Information Quarterly, and Fellowships at the Alan Turing Institute and Queen Mary's Digital Environment Research Institute.

• MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering (National Technical University of Athens, 2008)

Research Interests: Explores how technology transforms public sector operations, including policing data use, smart city ecosystems, and AI in healthcare. Recent work emphasizes algorithmic regulation, digital transformation challenges in public services, and the societal impact of emerging technologies.
