Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev Kumar is a Lecturer of Technology and Operations at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He teaches courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics. His research focuses on the intersection of technology and business decision-making. Prior to academia, he worked in industries like consulting and engineering with firms such as Tata Technologies and Arthur Andersen. He holds a PhD from the Ross School of Business (2009), an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (2000), and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (1997).

Dr. Kumar’s research interests include AI applications in business, big data analytics, and technology management. He has developed pioneering courses like Ross’s only AI-focused business course and a popular machine learning elective. He has also published work on topics ranging from BPO outcomes to open-source software development. Notably, he has received multiple teaching awards for his innovative approaches to education.
