Dr. Sang Min Shin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Kean University's College of Health Professions and Human Services, holding credentials as a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas (LPC-S), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Previously, she served as Program Coordinator for the Mental Health Counseling Program at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Her academic foundation includes:
- Ph.D. in Counseling & Counselor Education from the University of Florida
- M.S. in Clinical Community Counseling from The Johns Hopkins University
- B.S. from Sookmyung Women’s University
Dr. Shin's research centers on play therapy methodologies, therapeutic child-parent dynamics, and culturally responsive interventions, with significant contributions to nature-based counseling and counselor training frameworks.
